Blackman & Sloop survived another tax season! We closed at noon on April 18th and the entire firm went to lunch together. Everyone enjoyed having April 19th off as our official “tax holiday.”

Blackman & Sloop has a new intern – Andrew Fairchild started this week. Andrew is in the MSA Program at East Carolina University. He will be working with us this summer before he starts his final year of school.

Blackman & Sloop was a sponsor for the 2016 Law Enforcement Torch Run and Chapel Hill Police Department 19th Annual Golf Tournament, benefitting Special Olympics North Carolina. Gwen Reilly has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors at YES! – Youth Empowered Solutions. They are a nonprofit organization located in Raleigh and their mission is to empower youth in partnership with adults to create community change.
